A consulting partner of Gelatt Partners, Joanne Martens is an executive coach, consultant and the owner of The Intelleto Advantage, a Walnut Creek-based consulting and coaching firm since 2002.
As an executive coach and consultant, Joanne implements leadership development solutions that link individual effectiveness to organizational performance. She brings a broad base of strengths and experience to her clients, with her unusual background of over 25 years working in corporations, Internet start-up, non-profit and academia. Recent clients include PG&E Corporate and Field Operations, Cisco Systems, Kaiser Permanente and Agni Energy Corporation.

In addition to The Intelleto Advantage, Joanne is co-founder/co-developer of Green Pathway, a first-of-its-kind web-based career development program mobilizing young adults to cultivate ideas, people and career opportunities in the pursuit of environmental sustainability.
As a Manager/Senior Leadership Coach for Pacific Gas & Electric Company Joanne played a principal role in launching an internal coaching organization chartered to build leadership capabilities and facilitate business and culture transformation efforts. Her previous professional experience includes Business Development Manager for ePredix, a dot.com startup; Senior Consultant for the Career Action Center; Vice President for Drake Beam Morin; Sales Executive for Burroughs Corporation and Educator for the Mt. Diablo Unified School District.
Joanne is affiliated with the Work Design Collaborative and the Future of Work Community and a member of the South Bay Organizational Development Network. She holds certifications in MRG’s 360 Leadership Effectiveness Analysis and Individual Directions Inventory, Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI), Lominger’s Leadership Architect & Voices (360) and PDI Leader as Coach. She received her B.A. in Liberal Arts Summa Cum Laude and Graduate Studies Teaching Credential from San Francisco State University with an Advanced Degree in Wisdom and Resiliency. Joanne is a 5th generation San Franciscan.
